BoneFrog Coffee Company has partnered with one of the most knowledgeable and respected coffee roasters in the industry.
Dave Stewart was a pioneer of gourmet coffee roasting well prior to Seattle exploding onto the coffee scene. His life long passion for quality coffee and attention to detail started nearly 50 years ago and led him to become a Master Roaster. Over the years Dave has developed a signature style and flavor profile that is not easily replicated. His coffee blends and unique roasting style have been enjoyed by discerning coffee drinkers worldwide for decades. Dave and his brother were co-founders of Seattle’s Best Coffee that was acquired by Starbucks in 2003.
Dave's commitment to excellence and passion for fresh and vibrant blends makes him the perfect person to oversee our coffee operations. Our staff at BoneFrog Coffee consider him a dear friend and mentor to our operations.
The quality we have access to is unbelievable!
We purposely import farm direct from Central and South America, cutting out the middleman. This allows us to pay our farmers more thus improving agriculture, strengthening relationships and building communities Our beans are grown specifically for our blends and we have access to some of the most ethically grown and highest quality Arabica beans in the world.
For example, our Costa Rican coffee is grown in the famed Terrazu coffee-growing region at the Santa Elena Coffee Farm. The beans are processed, fermented and dried on site. The farm emphasizes sustainable agriculture, growing coffees in the shade, which not only preserves trees but also protects the berries from the sun and rain and helps control the weeds (as herbicides aren’t used on the farm). This sustainable coffee farm ships their premium product directly to us; truly farm-to-table!
Because of our commitment to you and the strong relationships we have built with our farmers, we hope to provide you with some of the best coffee in the world, while also providing the opportunity to be a part of something bigger. Please join us in our mission to give back to those organizations that support our military heroes.
There are endless flavor notes to coffee. You can practice observing these through a coffee tasting technique called coffee cupping.
This is how we, along with our producers around the world, check the quality of each batch of coffee. In cupping, coffees are scored for aspects such as cleanness, sweetness, acidity, mouthfeel and aftertaste. Only the finest coffees will meet our standards and find their way to your cup.
